CEO/President
Desmond D. Bertrand-Pitts is CEO/President of M.E.N. Inc. He was born in Mamou, Louisiana but has become a native Houstonian as of 1993. He is a product of The High School for Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice. After graduating, he then went on to Xavier University of Louisiana in 2003 only to return to Texas in 2005 and finish from Lamar University with a Bachelors of Applied Arts and Science with a concentration in Biology. Immediately after graduating from Lamar, he began researching Graduate programs and decided on American Intercontinental University where he completed his Masters of Busniess Administration (MBA) in 2011. Mr. Bertrand has recently obtained his 2nd Masters in Educational Leadership; second degree from Lamar University. He is currently shopping around for PhD programs in Organizational Leadership to further his education. He has a passion to see young men succeed in life; he has always been an advocate for higher education and loves to encourage young people to pursue their dreams. M.E.N. Inc. is the platform that will allow many young men to be mentored, educated and nurtured in a way that will change their lives for the better. Mr. Bertrand also serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Buffalo Soldier National Museum; a dream of his grandfather now reality. He has participated in many advocacy programs and educational initiatives that aim to raise awareness and educate youth within the community.
Executive Director
Justin Bertrand-Pitts is Executive Director of M.E.N. Inc. He is a native of Tifton, Georgia and a product of Tift County High School, he then went on to earn his undergraduate degree in general Psychology while attending Abraham Baldwin College and Armstrong Atlantic State University. Mr. Pitts has served on numerous community boards and organizations since the age of 15. Justin was licensed as a Minister in the summer of 2003 and served as Youth Minister of the Travelers Rest Baptist Church in Tifton Ga. Justin has worked in the Mental Health & Health Education fields for 10 years. The co-founder previously worked as Prevention Specialist at My Brothaz H.O.M.E. of Savannah Georgia where he performed rapid HIV testing & counseling, community outreach and prevention sex-education classes. After relocating to Houston in 2008, he served as a Mental Health Case Manager and Psycho-Social Rehab Therapist. Justin is certified as an Anger Resolution Therapist, Life Coach, Adult and Child Needs and Strength Assessment specialist.
